This is the beginning of a new chapter for Sian Evans and long-term writing partner, Ron McElroy. Mixing new works with their substantial back catalogue (Kosheen, DJ Fresh) they have created a thing of great beauty.

A one-off acoustic show in St Petersburg, in September 2013 gave them an opportunity to arrange their songs, old and new, in the simplest form possible: one guitar and one vocal. The audience response in Russia was overwhelming, and a very bright light showed the way ahead.

They continued writing and nine months later, showcased their new acoustic sound in London, at Camden’s Jazz Café. This time the band featured: Chris Draper (Drums), James Gardener-Bateman (piano), Rachael Lander (cello) Tim Thornton (double bass) and Bethanie Morgan (BV). The influence of Jazz and Classical musicians on Evans and McElroy’s elemental writing style brought about a perfect musical storm, with rays of sunlight shining through.
